BLMIS meeting.

Mick and I attended the BLMIS meeting on behalf of Blandford St. Mary this afternoon.  Yet another productive meeting at which we have managed to secure the much needed funds to resurface the school playground.  This should take place over the school summer holiday and hence be in place for the new academic year.  Other minor building maintenance type issues that the school has are also being addressed and things feel as though they are moving forward, which is great.

Kingston Lacy Running Festival

Please could you put the following onto the Blandford St. Mary School Governor Blog - many thanks:

A great turnout by the Governors, Staff and parents from the school at the Kingston Lacy Running Festival yesterday (Sunday 9th June) - both to run in one of the races and to assist with marshalling.  It was a well organised event by VO2 and everyone seemed to enjoy a good run through the grounds of Kingston Lacy, especially Seb and Paul Flavell who won the Family Fun Mile.  It was good to see some supporters from school there too - in fact it was much appreciated from those of us striding out to complete one of the main distance events.

All efforts - runners and supporters - will have helped to raise some funds through Friends of School for some additional school equipment, so all in a good cause - the exact amount is yet to be confirmed, but several hundred pounds has been raised to date, so a great team effort by all.

Well done and thank you to everyone who got involved.

Sports Day Success.......and rain.

Please could you put the following onto the Blandford St. Mary School Governor Blog - many thanks:

Well we managed one half of the School Sports Day.  It was great to see the enthusiasm and efforts being put in from the Key Stage 1 Children and there was some great support from Parents.  Unfortunately the rain crept in at lunchtime and the Key Stage 2 Sports Day had to be put off for another day.
